How We Can Support You

Making Everyday Life Easier: Practical Support Tailored to You

Life is full of everyday tasks that most people manage without a second thought. But when you're living with a long-term health condition or disability, we understand these simple things – from doing a bit of shopping to keeping on top of paperwork – can become significant hurdles, adding extra stress and complication to your day.

That's where our friendly, practical support comes in. We're a small, caring Cornish charity dedicated to providing flexible assistance that helps you overcome these daily challenges. Think of us as an extra pair of hands, helping to make those hurdles manageable again, so you have more time and energy to focus on living your life, your way.

Important Note: Our support focuses on practical help with daily activities to promote your independence. We do not provide personal care, such as assistance with washing, dressing, medication, or toileting.

How We Help: Support Designed Around You

Everyone's needs are different, so our support is completely flexible. We work with you to understand what would make the biggest difference to your daily life. While we can't list everything, here are some common areas where our support workers can lend a hand:

Staying Independent and Comfortable at Home

Feeling confident and capable in your own space is vital. We can assist with many of the practical tasks that keep a home running smoothly.

Examples might include: Light housekeeping (tidying, vacuuming), laundry and ironing, preparing simple meals or snacks, help with writing shopping lists or unpacking shopping, basic pet care (like feeding or letting out).

Managing Household Admin and Communication

Keeping on top of paperwork, calls, and correspondence can feel overwhelming. We can offer practical support.

Examples might include: Reading mail and helping you understand it, assisting with filling out forms (non-specialist), making phone calls on your behalf, organising paperwork, basic budgeting help.

Enjoying Hobbies and Interests

Having the energy for things you enjoy is important. We can sometimes help facilitate your leisure activities.

Examples might include: Accompanying you to a class or activity (like the library or garden centre), helping set up materials for a hobby at home, assisting with accessing information online related to your interests.

Getting Out and About in Your Community

Whether it's essential appointments or enjoyable outings, we can help you stay connected and active outside your home.

Examples might include: Accompanying you to GP or hospital appointments, attending social clubs or activities, visiting friends or family, trips to the shops, going for a walk or to the park.

The examples above are just a starting point. The best way we can help is by talking to you. Our support is built around your specific needs and what you find challenging. If a daily task is becoming a barrier for you, let's chat about whether our practical support could make it easier.

Our goal is simple: to provide reliable, friendly assistance that reduces the stress of everyday hurdles and helps you live more independently.
