History of Mid-Cornwall Lifestyles

History and Developments

Mid-Cornwall Lifestyles emerged from a short-term Social Services initiative based in St Austell that people did not want to lose. A group of people who had been receiving the service won a development grant of £5,000. One year's work produced a successful lottery bid worth nearly £123,000 over three years and so enabled the project to begin. The project manager took up the post in September 1999.

During the course of the three-year grant the project achieved sustainability through a measured but developmental consolidation of its skills in providing quality support to individuals. It works in partnership with Cornwall Adult Care, Health & Wellbeing, Cornwall NHS Partnership Trust, St Austell PHAB and a host of other small groups, charities, colleges, individuals and organisations.
Flexible individual support

Flexible individual support

The recent introduction Personal Budgets has allowed our preference for flexible individual support to be offered to a much wider audience and we welcome these changes where they greatly enhance an individual’s choice and independence. Recently relocated to Bude, the office continues to support independent choices throughout Cornwall.
